Hiroshima: Dropping the Bomb

First-hand accounts from crew members of the Enola Gay in the air and people on the ground – BBC laid a focus on the last minutes before the bomb exploded over Hiroshima. We read a book in elementary school: Sadako will leben by Karl Bruckner (english title: The Day of the Bomb) released in 1961 which tells about the Japanese girl Sadako Sasaki who lived in Hiroshima and died of illnesses caused by the nuclear radiation. She is to this day a symbol of innocent victims of war. Not thinking of that book for years I immediately remembered its name when I looked at these pictures.
